Leon "Ship" Shipley is a regular guy who works hard in a manufacturing plant in Mississippi and could be found drinking anything but alcohol in the local tavern on occasion. His life is pretty predictable in small-town Como, Mississippi, until he meets India, a beautiful, woman from Pascagoula, Mississippi who is in town for college and soon finds the company of Leon to be enjoyable and engaging. Fast forward two years, Leon has popped the question to a surprised but very receptive India and plans are underway to create their intimate wedding and new life together. Before their wedding day, India wants Leon to meet her mom and Leon seems interested in meeting this amazing woman who is a farmer and who raised her daughter as a single parent after India's father passed away. However, India's mom, Josie, seems to be very reluctant to celebrate her daughter's engagement and meet her intended, which Leon definitely picks up at their first meeting face to face. As plans get more underway with the wedding while visiting Josie, Leon begins to feel more and more, as does India, that Josie is not exactly excited and very skeptical that the couple can handle being married, as well as being parents someday. Leon also contacts his mother to share the good news, which she is also very reluctant to hear her son is getting married to a woman she has never met. Leon and India know that their move into marriage is quicker than expected but their love should show their families this is real and will last throughout the years, right? Will everyone finally notice this love between Leon and India and help elevate their excitement over their upcoming wedding day and future life together? Doris was born in Memphis TN!
