This is a compelling story of a young African-American man named Antonio T. Longshore, who came from a close-knit family in an Orlando, Florida community. In his late teens, Antonio, who is the main character of this true story, found himself caught up in a life that involved drugs, alcohol and violence. He was shot in the back of the head and became a quadriplegic at age twenty. Readers will be moved by the devotion of Antonio's mother, Teresa Longshore Jackson, and his family members, as he transitioned from being totally helpless to living a life with dignity, independence and fulfillment. He has two beautiful children, a number of faithful friends, and his family members surrounding him.
