This is the biography of Jesse Carter Little who lived from 1815 to 1893. He was prominent in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from his conversion in 1839 until his death. His early work resulted in the Mormon Battalion being authorized by President James K. Polk. He was one of the first Pioneers to enter the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. He served in the Presiding Bishopric of the Latter-day Saint Church for almost 18 years. He served as an attorney, City Marshal, US Assessor, and in many other civic and religious positions. He worked with Samuel Brannan in an effort to colonize 200,000 acres in Sonora, Mexico from 1884 to 1887. With his three wives he fostered 28 children and numerous grandchildren.
