While a number of the original stories have been revised and updated in this 2022 edition, an additional section has been added that includes a cross reference index to Manfred's companion volume, 'Some Other Guys' ISBN 9781588502407, plus an appendix that reviews the 'mysterious' February 1964 'Lost Oriole Cavern Recording Sessions'.

While most people are familiar with the 'Beatles', there is a universal misconception that they invented Merseybeat. However, nothing could be further from the truth as Merseybeat was 'under construction' long before the 'Beatles' exploded onto the scene.
