Florry and Sarah, from widely different backgrounds become roommates in a care facility. Florry, outspoken and practical, contrasts with Sarah, an obsessive-complulsive dreamer who lives in her own world. They both suffer the lack of privacy and constraints associated with community living. Florry, the more vocal of the two, decides that she no longer wants to live even though she is pain free and relatively comfortable. Sarah, carefree and solicitous, assumes the role of an over-protective care-giver. Florry's children are dismayed by their mother's depressive state and plan a small reunion to raise her spirits.
