WATCHED: POEMS contains a collection of poems that dives into the Big Brother ethos of the 21st Century. It seems like there are surveillance cameras everywhere. People are being monitored in subway (underground) stations, public buildings, university lecture buildings, and God-knows-where. David Paul Folyant expertly captures the spirit of fear that results from such an environment. Folyant further pushes the envelop to ponder the possible consequences of today's surveillance culture. Who benefits? Who loses? What are the motivations behind it all? This collection poems truly speaks to the spirit of the age. Many who read it will find much to relate to. This book of poetry will be excellent for poetry groups and discussion groups (and courses) on modern culture and present society. This book can also serve to encourage family discussions on today's cultural environment.
