Nerds existed; even during 30,001 BC! Cub is a member of a tribal community in Africa during the Stone Age. Wolf decides to remedy that by ordering Cub and three other men of the tribe to search for better hunting and gathering grounds. Cub and his posse cross the narrow strait dividing Africa from Europe, where they are captured by Neanderthals. The Neanderthals realize what a catch Cub really is - not only is he the son of a shaman - but his intelligence will be of great benefit to their village. As Cub becomes a member of the community, he matures into a man. Using his wits more than his brawn, he meets his first love and carves out his own place as a leader. Jack Hobbs writes a hugely entertaining and adventurous tale, creatively incorporating coming-of-age themes into an ancient era.
