She received her bachelor's degree from Salisbury University located in Salisbury, Maryland and her master's degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore located in Princess Anne, Maryland. She and her husband have relocated back to the Eastern Shore with their three children, Shykeem, Shykera and Shykayla.
