The Willows: Willow Grove, Willow Creek and Willow Estates were established approximately 1890, by Horace Crowley, along with a motley group of 700 immigrants. They walked for miles, carrying bundles across their backs, driving an old stubborn mule, a small herd composed of horses, cows, chickens packed in crates and several dogs, that ran along beside the group.Upon reaching their destination, a breeze of wind whisked across the low willows. Everyone sent up shouts of joy that filled the air. Birds chirped, squirrels scampered about chattering as they gathered food. Their upper-most thoughts were on the present circumstance; home. No person, in this group, knew or thought of the many trials, troubles and tribulation that would follow the trek to their new land."
