Christians & the Roman Army has a three-fold purpose: 1. To help churches minister to people in the military community; 2. To help military members who are also Christian understand/make peace with the inherent tensions between those two entities; 3. address the polarization between people who equate their nation with Christianity (Christian nationalism) and people who find their faith incompatible with adherence to a nation seemingly over the kingdom of God or those who are suspicious of excessive patriotism--
