Would you know how to prepare for an unforeseen emergency, or handle an unexpected disaster? For most North Americans a disaster is something nasty that happens to somebody else. The fact is that we are not much more prepared in a practical sense to survive a long-term widespread disaster than our poorer counterparts in other counties who deal with similar situations on a daily basis.
