In a quest to create a utopian society free of racial discrimination and bigotry, Dr. Harold Wright creates a time machine and sends Manny Brazil back in time to stop the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. However, the mission results in unexpected deviations in the professor's marriage and threatens to destroy his friendship with Manny.
