Author A.P. Murdock is a newcomer to the Literary Guild. However, is no stranger when fiction meets resiliency. - Steven-Mikal Brown Former On-Air Radio Personality and Program Director E.J., a precocious nine year old tries to prevent his mother, Dionne, from marrying her young paramour, Mr. Red, while on vacation in the idyllic town of Neutral Falls. At first, a heady dosage of wonder fills the air. But, things quickly go south as E.J.'s fears begin to mount after witnessing Mr. Red's devilish apparition in the hotel's pool reflection. Mr. Red amps up his devilish attacks towards E.J. during a visit to Clifton Hill's attractions. And when Mr. Red's proposes marriage, E.J.'s feelings of alienation intensify. That's until he discovers Dionne's missing 'colorful piece' in Mr. Red's possessions. To the chagrin of Dionne, E.J. exposes it at the eleventh hour, as she prepares to say 'I do.' This prompts a violent struggle between E.J. and Mr. Red that sends the ring flying. It's anyone's guess what happens next, or if E.J. will return home a little wiser and happier. A native of Detroit, Michigan, A.P. Murdock realized his passion for telling stories at 12, after writing a vignette for a student production. He continued penning short stories as a hobby while studying fashion illustration at Detroit's preeminent Cass Technical High School, and N.Y.C's Fashion Institute of Technology. As Executive Pastry Chef with Along Came Mary Events, A.P. crafted bespoke menus for an elite clientele. He later earned a B.A. in Media Theory and Criticism/Cinema and Television from California State University, Northridge. Inspired by literary greats James Baldwin, Ernest Hemingway and Joan Didion, A.P. wrote "Strait to Neutral Falls" based on a childhood trip. He currently lives in Los Angeles, and enjoys architecture, dining and caring for his two furry kids.
