Hannah as been blessed with too many toys, a family that dotes on her, perhaps a little too much, and vacations, and Christmases and Birthdays and presents. She is a child of "plenty". By contrast, Brian has a small family, and when his Mom takes sick has to move to his Grandma & Grandpa's farm.
