As a child, Chris thought he wanted to be a doctor, but a visit to a training ship convinced him that his future lay at sea. Jonathan on the other hand decided to study medicine but always had a hankering for faraway places, and had a rather romanticised view of the sea based on some of his father's reminiscences. Fate would bring them together, and in an action-packed account this book explores the way in which they re-visited their early aspirations, and decided if indeed they should have followed a different course.
