The Memoirs of a Modern Day Slave is a collection of journal entries written by author Jerard Shannon. In this book, the author gives his philosophies and details of his very own life as a civilian growing up in the inner city. He hopes to challenge the mind of his readers by offering solutions on how to overcome the daily obstacles faced by today's Afro American.
