Cotter Trespin has been experiencing strange phenomena on the streets of Chicago. Since turning twenty-one a month prior, the spotlights come and go without reason. They seem to shine from a place far beyond the stars, and Cotter quickly realizes that they are lighting up stages that are set for murder.
