Scott McLaughlin and Ron Savage become best friends in combat against the Taliban in Afghanistan. Ron, being severely injured, was helped by Scott, who with minor injuries; carried him to safety. After recovering they each return to their separate choice of careers, Ron continuing in the military and Scott as a television journalist.
