Dann Two major production companies have received the script in 2004, but they haven't responded yet if it will become a movie. A couple of directors have read the script as well and they suggested to give it to the previous filmmakers because within the franchise they have the rights to transform the script into a movie. All the previous parts were written by different people and became a very successful sequel. Logline to Lethal Weapon 5 A couple weeks before their retirement, Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh were almost killed by a "Chinese-Hungarian-Russian" mob while trying to solve a huge drug case. As they follow their instincts (triggered or even "provided" by a Hungarian guy named Steve) they are lead to Budapest, where they end up finding themselves in one of the biggest predicaments ever - the drug shipments they are trying to stop from entering the USA turned out to be four nuclear warheads...
