Alexandra is a brilliant scientist and although she was raised in a loving home, she often thinks about her birth mother, and why she left. Her father and stepmother encourage, sometimes only tolerating, her curiosity in science, developing a wide range of skills and abstract thought, which always come back to time-travel.
