On a warm day in July, nine campers met for the first time. They ranged in age from 2nd to 6th grade. Some were excited about camp and could hardly wait to begin to write. Others would rather, quite frankly, be outside playing. Some were quite experienced writers....others not so much! But they all came together to form a writing community for that hot week in July. They learned to create together, and were surprised that writing isn't always a quiet or solitary experience. Many developed a "voice" for the first time. Everyone grew as writers.
