Plant Collecting Collaborative : Georgia 2016

The primary objective for this trip was to collect hardy germplasm from three regions: Tusheti in far north-eastern Georgia; the tall herbaceous perennial vegetation found in the Southern Caucasus near the border with Turkey and Armenia; and the higher elevation Colchic forest flora in western Georgia. Within these geographic ranges, participants documented plants in their native habitats while helping to train the next generation of plant collectors. Ultimately the trip resulted in an increased number of taxa in American living collections.--Page 9.
