Though his memories of what happened in those hours are very sketchy, they are enough to alarm him. Forcing away what he knows to be an irrational belief, he does what any sane man would do: goes to the pub.It is on his return home from The Stag that things begin to go horribly wrong. An act of true altruism and bravery (and quite possibly intense stupidity considering that he was messing with the dreaded Spencer family) results in Steve being held at Her Majesties pleasure.
