Widows Of Substance : The Loneliness Of Widowhood

Widows of Substance is a support group for Widows and former Widows. The group exists to offer emotional support, share ideas, encouragement and advise through our Facebook and WhatsApp platforms. WOS is a safe haven for Widows to share information about themselves freely without judgement. We allow each other to grieve in our own way and let people be. Bereavement through loss of a husband is a traumatic experience that is both painful and life changing and can lead to mental health issues. It is only those who have travelled on this road who can understand the impact it causes to the Widow and the family at large. We have shared our stories to bring awareness to Widowhood issues and the challenges associated with it. We hope this will bring understanding between widows and society and make the community support widows better. The themes that emerge from this book include loneliness, grief, inheritance problems with some greedy in-laws, forming new relationships and wife inheritance
