Hannah Kincaid, recovering from anorexia, is not pleased when sent to Martha's Vineyard to stay with a great aunt whom she's never met. Mrs. Chase lives in a crumbling manor on a large estate called Stewart's Grove. She employs only two servants-a no-nonsense housekeeper, Mrs. Donohue, and her husband, the gardener.Soon Hannah experiences strange dreams about a Puritan girl and hears mysterious sounds at night in the 300-year-old mansion.
