Facx was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1964, he was raised in the Lexington Terrace projects. He later graduated from Southwestern High school majoring in art. In 1990 he became a correctional officer for the state of Maryland retiring in 2010. He was given the name Facx pronounced face by a close relative because he never looked his age and it stuck. He is a dedicated husband, father and one of Jehovah's Witnesses. His love for poetry was inspired by his grandmother who was known for her poetry and inspirational writings. Over the years he has written many poems inspired by his experiences of city living along with his years working in the correctional setting, while maintaining the high moral standards of his faith and his love for the human race and have produced a gumbo of sorts of poetic writings. Every written poem has a clear message or lesson aimed to stimulate the thoughts of the reader in hopes to awareness and growth.
