2019 is drawing to a close. Wealthy American expat Glenn Murray Cohen, a former criminal lawyer, is stuck in a dead-end gig managing the career of Phil Funston, Bangkok's most talented guitarist and most obnoxious foreign resident. Glenn's sense of honor won't let him quit without finding a suitable replacement. His mysterious friend the General promises to accomplish this if Glenn will represent him on a business negotiation. An American company has offered to buy an interest in the General's security business, but questions linger about the prospective buyers' motives. Glenn reluctantly agrees, and it isn't long before he and his NJA Club friends are again drawn into webs of intrigue and danger. When they discover the buyers are really foreign thugs tailing an American scientist, pieces of the puzzle fall in place.
