Bella is a young girl who receives a pair of beautiful shoes for her birthday. She becomes so in love with these shoes, that all she wants is more. Bella receives a gift of $20.00 from her Aunt Sally and decides to buy another pair of shoes with that money. As she is walking with her mom to buy shoes, she comes across a table set on the side of the road for people to donate their shoes for charity. Bella asks her mother what 'donate' means, as she tells her it means to give something away of yours for a good cause, and to give your shoes to someone who may not have their own. Her mother tells her that she should think about donating some of the shoes she has because she doesn't need that many. Just then, Bella's shoe breaks and she is very upset. She sits with her mom and they look on the tablet, as a way to encourage Bella to think more about different people and their needs. They look at other children in different countries who do not have as much and that getting upset over her broken shoe is silly, and just material. Bella soon realizes the importance of giving to others who are less fortunate than you and donates all of her shoes except for the first pair she received from her Grandma and Grandpa. Bella feels great about giving to others. The broken pair of shoes she left in her closet, is a reminder to always be thankful for what she has and how happy donating her shoes made her, and other children in the world.
