In a small town in the Canadian Rockies, six circus elephants stampede and escape into the wilderness. It's 1926 with the country embroiled in a momentous election campaign. Myrtle was pretty big but not healthy and so was probably around two and a half tons, although weight and speed were not the calculations uppermost in Frank's mind. In the last seconds left to him, ninety percent of his brain was running through the possible ways to make her stop, the remaining ten percent trying not to think about what would happen if she didn't.
