Each section represents a phrase in the writer's life. She was once diagnosed withdepression and the section on 'Melancholy' speaks on that. Death is inevitable and sadly she losther father and both of her siblings. The section on 'Anguish' touches on loss and grief as well as thepains of losing a loved one. 'Heartache' and heartbreak is unavoidable and this section relates toprevious relationships and hurt she faced in those relationships.Contentiousness: This section is filled with controversial pieces and poems that make people talk.Hard topics like abortion and drug abuse are within this section.The 'Cravings' and 'Confusion' sections relate to a time in the writer's life when she was using sexand alcohol to escape her pain. It also goes deeper when we realise that she had a serious issuewith the idea of love. 'Hesitancy' deals with that fear. In her work, she explains that she is hesitantto love someone but we see a change as she nears the 'Companionship' section. She finally opensup to love and realises that love is the answer to life and living.
