The Society of Military Widows is sponsoring this book in commemoration of our 50th Anniversary and as a fund-raiser as well as an educational source for members of the public.With this collection of true-life stories from members of SMW and other survivors, we celebrate fifty years of widows assisting each other, supporting our active duty personnel in the United States Uniformed Services and bolstering legislative efforts to improve the benefits needed to sustain the surviving spouses and families.We have lost many members over these fifty years, due to their passing or as a result of aging. Those who remain continue in our efforts to support each other and the needs of those who will someday follow. 2018 will see us continuing our mission, Catherine McGraw, SMW National President (2017-2020).
