Jason Series: Guidelines For Teachers

This guideline book was written to inspire teachers with examples of the various ways the Jason Series books can be used in their classrooms. The series includes: Giraffes Do Not Have Pockets, Giraffes Do Not Have Credit Cards, and Giraffes Do Not Have Collateral. The motivation for writing these fun stories was three-fold:1) To instill a love of reading in younger children,2) To establish sound language art skills,3) To create a positive attitude toward economic and financial literacy. Students can learn many of life's lessons as they follow Jason and his friends through a maze of experiences. Teachers can extrapolate various skill sets from the books and teach the basics of reading, economics, financial literacy, and all language arts skills. Each book is scaled in skill development and appropriate reading level. Vocabulary enhancement is a large part of the series development. The author has included lesson plans with requisite grade-level standards but encourages the teachers to mix and match the disciplines integrating them into their teaching environment. This series can be enjoyed at many different levels of K-6.
