Life On A Tightrope......Without A Net!: A Daughter'S Life Of Chaos And A Family Destroyed By The Hands Of A Narcissistic Mother
$16.89
Heartbreaking disasters unfold during Kirstin's life that no girl should have to endure, all orchestrated by her narcissistic Mother. She destroys the family by turning Kirstin's Father against her, all three brothers against each other and thanks to Mother, the loving bond between Kirstin and her Aunt is ended. Years later, after her Father doesn't show up at Kirstin's wedding to walk her down the aisle, she's diagnosed with breast cancer and refuses to tell her Mother, knowing she will blame Kirstin for not being perfect. She invents a cover story and says she's going to Sedona for a month-long seminar on Viking Runes, enraging her Fundamentalist, Born-Again Christian Mother into disowning her. With her husband's blessing and help in keeping the secret, she and her best friend (the narrator, Ness) fly to St. Augustine, FL for her treatment. By coincidence or Divine Intervention, her roommate turns out to be the Aunt her mother hasn't allowed her to speak to for over 20 years! They recover together and remember, renew and recover their lost relationship. When her treatment is over, Kirstin sends Ness and her husband on a well-deserved Anniversary weekend. Kirstin sets out alone on the 45 minute drive from St. Augustine to Jacksonville, to meet a college friend, to share the ride home. But before she reaches Jacksonville, Kirstin is killed in an auto accident. Everyone finds out where she was and why, but instead of grieving, Mother is furious that she was deceived, vowing to make those involved pay for lying to her. She starts with Ness, planning to torment her, but then finds out it was the despised Aunt that spent Kirstin's final days with her. Mother's rage is so unbalanced, that she makes plans to kill them both. She plans to kidnap the Aunt first, but finds Ness there visiting her! She sneaks into the Aunt's house, hiding all night. In the morning, she ambushes them, and attempts to strangle the Aunt. When Ness comes to the Aunt's defense, Mother stabs her in the neck, nicking her carotid artery, causing a thin fountain of blood to flow up and onto the carpet. Laughing maniacally, Mother turns to the Aunt to finish her off. But the Aunt has disappeared! Frantically spinning around, Mother sees the Aunt holding a Magnum .44 with both hands, pointed at her. The last thing Ness hears before passing out, is two gunshots. Ness' narration of Kirstin's story now turns into a first-person account of her time in Heaven, while she is in a coma. During her near-death experience, she visits with Kirstin, and all of her loved ones. She is Graced by an encounter with Mary. Jesus gives her instructions to bring back to Earth for a Chaplain named Matthew, who carries the Soul of the original Disciple to restore the Peace and Clarity that was Christ's original intention for Christianity. When she awakens from the coma, her husband reveals that the doctors have discovered she is 8 weeks pregnant, defying years of the infertility problems that she and Kirstin both suffered from. They each got small, different butterfly tattoos under their navels to help conceive, but nothing worked. Ness realizes that she conceived on the same day Kirstin died. Seven and a half months later, when her daughter is born, Emmie Louise has a birthmark under her navel that matches Kirstin's butterfly tattoo. In the epilogue, Kirstin's Brothers renew their relationships with each other and the Aunt, who is Emmie Louise's Godmother. Ness' book on Kirstin's life is a best seller, and she goes on to write a book about Christ's messages to her, leading her to become an Internationally known Christian Speaker.
