A Federal Holiday on the calendar means nothing but dread in the city of Annapolis. Fear has been king ever since a black man in dreadlocks began throwing young girls inside his van in on the holiday. Any man with dreadlocks is a suspect, but only one in particular is targeted, Barry Duval. He is black, he has dreadlocks and once in a while he drives a van. Over the course of Barry's life, he had been brutalized by white policeman due to the color of his skin, but whatever had happened before, could not compare to the injustice he was facing today. The media tarnished his good name to the point that he lost his job and was kicked out of his apartment while lying in the ICU, in a coma! Even after the FBI cleared his name, a nurse injected something into his IV, attempting to kill him. It was obvious then, that no one believed that he was innocent...except Mildred.
