This book of memoirs will give you a view of the first 20 years of life, expressing the challenges of a girl from a fatherless home in West Philadelphia. A young Black girl's life with secrets of manipulation, abuse, drugs, and confusion. She shares the struggles of her emotional pain and the determination to find something better. It also examines the research of some statistics that a fatherless child can fall into, as well as the words of wisdom based on personal experience and observation. Sheni' Suntory has emerged as a professional military non commissioned officer in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service, and the first woman in her family to have a successful long term military career. She is a community leader, entrepreneur, and a college graduate with a B.A. in Theology, while raising a son as a widow. She also has earned a Virginia State license in Cosmetology. She is establishing herself as an advocate for women in life transitions by leading a monthly women's group, Sister's Holistic Evolution (SHE) in Virginia. In her memoirs, is the work of deep reflection and storytelling of the struggles she endured as a youth and young adult, resulting as a statistic of a fatherless girl. She invites readers into her world, chronicling events that have created her strength and perseverance from her dark childhood, through the confusions of adolescence, and the risky street life of young adulthood in West Philadelphia. With unerring honesty, she describes her personal thoughts and statistics in the hopes that it will enlighten and encourage better decision making for the readers. The relationship that was eventually developed and cherished with her father, then with his unfortunate death took an unexpected effect on her. The needed counseling inspired her to tell her traumatic story as she has lived it. The first 20 years was the hardest to write but there is much more to come in a developing series. She shares the soul of a woman that endured much but used it as a leverage to steadily defied expectations and not make excuses to play the broken victim - and whose story inspires us to do the same. "Your childhood does not have to define your adulthood."
