Did a poem spring from the well of his soul, or is it a memory of something heard in the past - someone else's poem. Krunchie Killeen writes poems that just pop into his head, often as he rises from sleep. Dangerous, because these emissions from the subconscious, as well as conflicting with his conscious thought, can disregard political orrectness and accepted religious dogma, - the web of myth to which we are expected to make our utterances onform. However, to censor them would be to bear false witness. He sometimes visits the mind of imaginary players, such as the legendary Finn Mac Ool, or a lascivious monk hearing the confessions of sexy women. Of course, what springs into his mind are often remembrances of years ago, including things learned at school, not just of history, religion and literature, but even of maths, such memories often tempered by scepticism drawn from life's experiences. Sometimes he revisits schoolday poems in Irish, giving new insights in his versions. Sometimes, perhaps, he unwittingly recalls, as his own, words he heard, but has forgotten where they came from: someone else's poem? This collection, though quietly humorous and often obliquely ironic or symbolic, is more reflective than his previous collection, "Outrageous Poems," which were more likely to evoke a belly laugh.
