Liverpool property magnate Damon Slate is found early one Sunday morning wandering out of the Queensway Tunnel, holding a red high-heeled shoe. He seems to be experiencing a serious case of amnesia.

Heavily pregnant DI Beth Krush is tasked with this apparently straightforward matter. But Slate's wife, Iris, is nowhere to be found, and the detective suspects her husband isn't telling the truth.
