Transformation: Cragend Farm Northumberland: Cragend Farm Northumberland

This research has been collated over the course of more than 12 years and is a first-hand reference for the machinery at Cragend Farm, Rothbury, Northumberland.

Purchased in 2011 from The Armstrong family of Bamburgh by Shaun & Lou Renwick, the farm was derelict, and much of its history forgotten.

Cragend Farm Hydraulic Silo is classed as a Grade II* Listed 'Building at Risk' by Historic England.

The remainder of the outbuildings and houses were suggested to have 'potential' and are not listed.

I felt it my duty to write in and around them, as they are of direct and distinguished relevance to this book, and deserve explanation as does the history of the farm, as well as the water powered hydraulics that still to this day are visible there.
