The author made his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Konstanz, Germany, and post-doctorates in Berkeley and Oxford. His published work in English includes the book The Philosophical Inquiry: Towards a Global Account (UPA 2002), and the papers "Free Will and the Soft Constraints of Reason" (Ratio 2006) and "A Perspectival Definition of Knowledge" (Ratio 2010).
