Dyslexia-Smart: tailored for dyslexic readers but can be read by anyone. On her 16th birthday Marion looks back to events of several years ago and relives them all in great detail - especially the day a telegram arrived. The issues she faced then, that caused her pain and anguish, were too much for her to deal with as a 9-year-old. They were too much for her mother too. Marion had to cope alone. The setting of this story is some seventy years ago, during the days of the Second World War. The hardships and difficulties faced by young people growing up during war time form the vivid backdrop to this story.
