The only alternative to capitalism is socialism. The first attempt to organize a non-capitalist, proportionally developing economy in the direction of a prosperous future was made by the USSR. The historical analysis of the development of the economic policy of the USSR from war communism to the NEP and then to the course of industrialization shows how the country, gradually accumulating a balanced experience in economic planning, moved to use the method of successive approximations (iterations) to the drawing up of plans.
