The murderer, whom the media has dubbed 'the Prop Master' because of the elaborately staged murder scenes, sends a series of letters to Eddy detailing his next murder. Eddy's record on the force was exemplary but for one unsolved crime - the murder of six-year-old Abigail - which haunts him even in retirement. He is not about to let another killer roam free. As he becomes increasingly entangled in the case, everything Eddy holds dear starts to disintegrate around him, jeopardising his happy family life.
