Ion Creanga's writings and stories brought joy to generations of children with his unique language and humor. The Romanian culture, folklore, and traditions that were formed during thousands of years, intertwine in Creanga's contribution to literary naturalness of rural inspiration. The Old Man's Daughter and the Old Woman's Daughter is one of his most recognized story, and an amazing read with unforgettable characters. This bilingual version in English and Romanian, is beautifully illustrated by Mihaela Gimlin. About the illustrator: "I was born and raised in Buzau, Romania. Influenced by my father, I started drawing and painting at a very young age. I received my bachelor's degree in Art from the University of Bucharest. The Old Man's Daughter and the Old Woman's Daughter is a classic Romanian story that has been passed down from generation to generation. My mother told it to me, as her mother had told it to her. As my mother read me the story, I would envision myself as the old man's daughter on a journey into an unknown land. I invite you to read this story and experience for yourself an exploration of imagination and the happiness of being a child."
