After a decade hiding in Puerto Vallarta, Patrick Tomlinson is finally about to reunite with his family in the States, including his sister, Cherie. All he must do is perform one last dangerous mission involving Maya artifacts. Patrick is ready to take the necessary steps when he unexpectedly meets a beautiful artist. Sonrisa Herrera intrigues Patrick, stirring in him long-buried feelings he had nearly forgotten.

Sonrisa and her son, Juan, are in hiding in Mexico. When she meets handsome Patrick, she thinks she has outrun her dark past and is finally safe. But then something happens that throws her world upside down, and the only one who can help her is Patrick.
