Tobacco Barns - Eastern North Carolina

There was a time when you could not ride down a road in Eastern North Carolina in the summer and not see tobacco growing on each side of the road. Tobacco was a major crop in Eastern North Carolina, but it was by accident of fate that it led North Carolina to dominate the tobacco industry.
