World War Three has come and gone, along with most of the human race. A few of the people left over are different, too. They've developed powers hiding in plain sight. that are past humanity's understanding. Corinne Loralar and her twin sister Selena are at the center of it all. They decide to escape from their restrictive city the very night it's attached by unidentified sources. The girls get intercepted by the Moore brothers, Rowan and River. Surprisingly, they're on their side. The four of them set off to find their freedom, but the victory is short lived. Attackers round them up and bring them back to an unnerving facility where they learn there are more layers of reality than meets the eye. What Corinne fails to remember is that even considerate people have their own agendas to uphold. Agendas that may end up costing someone their life.
