A collection of stories passed down through the oral histories of the Micmac, Passamaquoddy, and Penobscot people. Along with illustrations, taken from original drawings on birch bark. This work is part of the 'Umbrage Press Rare Manuscript Reprint Collection'. Which is taken from the 19th century work compiled by Charles G. Leland and reprinted verbatim. There are variations to the legend of Glooscap as each tribe of the Wabanaki adopted the legend to their own region. At the same time, there are consistencies in the legend with Glooskap always portrayed as "kind, benevolent, a warrior against evil and the possessor of magical powers".
