When the supercomputers of the Western World went self-aware on the second Thursday in June, after all of the name calling and rancour in general had died down, planet Earth was reduced to little more than an atomically scarred, barren wasteland. As is the case in most post-apocalyptic scenarios, there were pockets of survivors, most of these taking to rampaging around the devastated countryside upon vulgar looking motorcycles which had been converted to run on vegetable oil. However, a small group of survivors in west Wales, rather than cavort around the land on vulgar looking motorcycles, banded together and formed an eco-community; a place they called home; a place they called Utopia Ville. With some careful vetting by Father Derek, the community's priest and weather guru, their numbers swelled and the land once again started to become profitable with the crops. What the people of Utopia Ville hadn't counted on was one Jonas Prendergast slipping through Father Derek's net.Jonas was a very surly teenager, one not at all happy with his lot in Utopia Ville. In fact, Jonas had never been happier than in the crumbling ruins of Cardiff, the darkness and the city rats his best friends. But, whereas most surly teenager will mostly just mope around, grunting every now and then, Jonas went one further. Jonas called upon a dark demon, the Phantom of the Unknown, to grant him special powers, transforming him into quite the ferocious beast; a creature who will only be truly happy when Utopia Ville is destroyed and its inhabitants ripped to pieces.Matthew Blackstock, his dad Chris, Father Derek and a small troop of volunteers more used to farming than mortal combat, find themselves upon a superhuman quest to slay the beast before it kills them..........or worse.
