Vivian : A Novel

Vivian's client kills himself in the middle of a courtroom. She suspects corruption behind the scenes and loses her professional bearings in front of the judge, who orders her to undergo anger management counseling. A psychologist turns out to have designs of her own on Vivian. In the meantime, people are disappearing from Torren, Oregon, and the police are not sure why. A detective transfers from Seattle to help solve the accumulating cases of missing persons. All the while, Vivian is beginning to appreciate Demeesilah, a mysterious spiritual presence situated along the Oregon Coast.
