The Glowings

The Glowings This humorous historical tale set in late 18th Century Britain begins as we join a few innocent travellers from various walks of life when they first meet boarding a public horse carriage which due to unforeseen circumstances means they eventually witness a miraculous Glowing when an old lady is brought back to life. Their lives dramatically change forever when the mad King George hears of this, and whilst undergoing treatment from their natural team leader Mr G. A. Armitage an unconventional physicist, enlists these common people together for a royal crusade through France then Germany in search of the remnants of a rock that apparently fell from heaven. In the right hands, this powerful gem is capable of curing illness and resurrecting the recent dead. In the wrong hands however, ah. Best wait and hope nothing goes awry. From their different backgrounds, professions and natural abilities we're privileged during their travels to learn the origins of many inventions, rituals and habits that years later become common place. John E. Lucius, keeper of their diaries, has skillfully interwoven and updated their writings into an intriguing modern adventure that'll bring more than a warm smile or two to your face once you recover from the worries they'll hand your way.
